Essential Functions

Teaching: Integrate core concepts from past courses into the one being taught. Communicate with students, faculty, and administration on student progress throughout the semester.

Prerequisite Qualifications

  • Must possess a design-related Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution or a bachelor's degree with appropriate industry experience to teach undergraduate courses.
  • Advanced degree or significant equivalent industry experience required to teach at the graduate level.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior teaching experience is particularly welcome.
  • Advanced Degree preferred.
  • Depending on the course, the instructor would need to have relevant experience in creative, analytical, or synthetic design areas.
  • Hands-on knowledge of course topics is desired (e.g., knowledge of game design and interactivity, 2D and 3D animation, XR, motion graphics, screen based communication and UI/UX, knowledge of arduino programming and physical computing, web design and use of digital software to produce and evaluate design work, sound design, music theory, etc.).

Salary Information

In compliance with the NJ Pay Transparency Law, the rate for this position is $2668 per credit hour (USD). NJIT considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses or other items.
