About the role
Hudson Valley Community College (HVCC) seeks experienced, dynamic, capable, creative, and caring individuals to join their Adjunct Faculty team starting the Fall 2026 semester. Responsibilities
- Maintain current knowledge of professional specialty and educational methodology through continuing professional development.
- Formulate and adhere to program entrance requirements.
- Develop course outlines according to college policy incorporating ARDMS specifications.
- Evaluate clinical education effectiveness through regular site visits and student competency assessments.
- Instruct courses associated with the program in compliance with college policies.
- Maintain effective liaison between the college and clinical sites.
- Communicate clinical or student issues to the Program Director or Department Chairperson.
- Conduct conferences with students on clinical matters, responsibilities, and problems.
- Observe and evaluate students in the clinical setting, providing instruction and remediation when necessary.
- Confer with clinical site staff on student problems.
- Encourage conferences between staff and students to enhance clinical education.
- Suggest additional materials to enhance clinical education.
- Confer with clinical instructors throughout the semester regarding student evaluations.
- Participate in programmatic accreditation with the Joint Review Committee on Education in Diagnostic Medical Sonography.
Requirements
- Associate's Degree in an allied health field or other relevant discipline from an accredited institution.
- Possession of a credential in adult echo through the ARDMS (or national equivalent).
- A minimum of five years of experience in sonography, either as a practitioner or instructor, within the past ten years.
Qualifications
- Willingness to travel to the Utica, NY area.

- Ability to maintain current knowledge of professional specialty and educational methodology through continuing professional development.
- Experience in curriculum and/or program development.
- Effective communication skills.
- Ability to observe and evaluate students in the clinical setting.
- Ability to confer with clinical site staff and suggest additional materials.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
Benefits
The salary for this position is $1,523.00 per contact hour.
