About the role
This position is designated as a security sensitive position and requires a satisfactory criminal history background check. Males between the ages of 18 through 25 must be properly registered with the Selective Service System to be eligible for employment.
Responsibilities
- Teaching courses in the approved discipline
- Providing instruction to facilitate student acquisition of the specific learning outcomes identified for the assigned courses
- Mentoring students inside and outside of the classroom
- Create and maintain an effective learning environment in the modalities of the courses assigned
- Engage in instructional preparation
- Provide timely feedback to students and respond to student communications in a timely manner
- Assessment of student performance; including submission of final grades in a timely fashion
- Maintain ethical and professional behavior
- Be available to students by appointment
- Attend adjunct faculty meetings
- Assess courses on departmental and institutional levels
- Complete any required training
Requirements
- Minimum Southern Association of Colleges and Schools credential standards for faculty teaching courses designed for workforce certificate or degree completion
- Experience developing culinary education, curriculum planning, development, evaluation and testing
- Advanced level knowledge in food preparation and culinary education
- Three or more years of teaching or training experience in culinary arts
- Associate or Bachelor of Culinary Arts Degree
- Three plus years of work-related experience, preferred
