About the role

This position is designated as a security sensitive position and requires a satisfactory criminal history background check. Males between the ages of 18 through 25 must be properly registered with the Selective Service System to be eligible for employment.

Responsibilities

  • Teaching courses in the approved discipline
  • Providing instruction to facilitate student acquisition of the specific learning outcomes identified for the assigned courses
  • Mentoring students inside and outside of the classroom
  • Create and maintain an effective learning environment in the modalities of the courses assigned
  • Engage in instructional preparation
  • Provide timely feedback to students and respond to student communications in a timely manner
  • Assessment of student performance; including submission of final grades in a timely fashion
  • Maintain ethical and professional behavior
  • Be available to students by appointment
  • Attend adjunct faculty meetings
  • Assess courses on departmental and institutional levels
  • Complete any required training

Requirements

  • Minimum Southern Association of Colleges and Schools credential standards for faculty teaching courses designed for workforce certificate or degree completion
  • Experience developing culinary education, curriculum planning, development, evaluation and testing
  • Advanced level knowledge in food preparation and culinary education
  • Three or more years of teaching or training experience in culinary arts
  • Associate or Bachelor of Culinary Arts Degree
  • Three plus years of work-related experience, preferred
