The primary objective of all faculty positions is to create a dynamic teaching and learning environment for our students, while contributing to the college service. Responsibilities include teaching assigned courses by following the course description and course outline established by the department. Additional responsibilities may include participating in departmental initiatives, providing evidence of academic achievements, recognition by professional and community organizations, and other duties as assigned. Teaching schedules may include day/evening courses and online/hybrid instruction and other instructional modalities. Online instruction requires certification through a 7-week asynchronous CCM certification course prior to teaching.

  • Master’s Degree is required from a regionally-accredited institution in an appropriate discipline.
  • A doctorate and/or specialized training in a related specific discipline preferred and may be required depending on the subject.
  • Prior college or university teaching experience and experience working in the field of study preferred, as is evidence of scholarly and/or professional activities.
  • Additional job experience may be substituted for a Masters Degree in a selected discipline.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of discipline with educational and/or practical competence in one or more of the following areas - Criminal Justice, Legal Studies, or Emergency Services.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
