Adjunct Instructor, Cosmetology ConEd

Wake Technical Community College is seeking to expand our pool of part-time faculty to teach Cosmetology courses. Openings for these positions may or may not be available at this time; however, after a review of qualifications, applicants may be contacted in the future. Adjunct faculty positions provide quality, effective instruction in assigned courses on a part-time, temporary basis at various locations. , To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the essential job functions satisfactorily. Instructs and guides the class in an efficient and effective mannerMaintains accurate records of student work and attendancePrepares thoroughly for each instructional class periodMaintains a safe and orderly learning environmentGrades and returns student work in a timely mannerCounsels students regarding their grades and progress in the course Designs curriculum and a schedule of instruction Constructs classroom materials that support the goals of the course Remains up-to-date on technology and methods of teaching with technology Attends professional development opportunities when possible, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Able to use a wide variety of teaching methods to promote learning Be innovative, creative, motivated Ability to exhibit good interpersonal skills and work well with others Able to maintain records accurately and be able to meet deadlines consistently Good organizational skills Knowledge of and facility with technology and software including, computers, and web-based resources such as BlackBoard Able to perform normal duties with minimal supervision Excellent communication skills both written and verbal Demonstrates resourcefulness, initiative, enthusiasm, and a sincere interest in helping students reach their maximum potential Requirements Current Cosmetology License and Cosmetology Instructor License Two years salon experience Two years teaching experience Unofficial transcripts must be attached with your online application prior to submission or submitted to Human Resources immediately upon completing the application.
