About the role
Tarleton State University, a distinguished Doctoral National Comprehensive University, invites applications for the position of Adjunct Instructor - Communication Sciences and Disorders in the Department of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences. This role supports the growing student enrollment for the 2025-2026 Academic Year at our Stephenville and Fort Worth campuses.
Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and deliver lectures, seminars, and/or laboratory offerings to undergraduate and/or graduate students.
- Select instructional materials and design assessments such as exams, quizzes, papers, etc.
- Audit student performance, provide feedback, and evaluate learning outcomes.
- Engage students in active learning, foster critical thinking, and provide opportunities for discussion, collaboration, and hands-on learning.
- Provide academic support and guidance through office hours, feedback on assignments, and mentoring.
- Adhere to university policies, academic integrity standards, and accreditation requirements.
- Incorporate innovative teaching methods, technologies, and pedagogical approaches.
- Serve as a Campus Security Authority (CSA).
Requirements
- Earned masters degree in Speech Language Pathology or a closely related field from an accredited university with a minimum of 18 graduate hours in the teaching discipline.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
Preferred Qualifications
- Earned doctorate/terminal degree in a closely related field from an accredited university with a minimum of 18 graduate hours in the teaching discipline.
- Previous online teaching experience at the collegiate level.
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
- Knowledge and understanding of disciplinary subject matter at a level adequate for undergraduate and graduate-level instruction.
- Written and oral communication skills sufficient to conduct effective teaching activities.
- Ability to interact with students, staff, and faculty in a professional, collegial, and collaborative manner.
