About the role

Tarleton State University, a distinguished Doctoral National Comprehensive University, invites applications for the position of Adjunct Instructor - Communication Sciences and Disorders in the Department of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences. This role supports the growing student enrollment for the 2025-2026 Academic Year at our Stephenville and Fort Worth campuses.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver lectures, seminars, and/or laboratory offerings to undergraduate and/or graduate students.
  • Select instructional materials and design assessments such as exams, quizzes, papers, etc.
  • Audit student performance, provide feedback, and evaluate learning outcomes.
  • Engage students in active learning, foster critical thinking, and provide opportunities for discussion, collaboration, and hands-on learning.
  • Provide academic support and guidance through office hours, feedback on assignments, and mentoring.
  • Adhere to university policies, academic integrity standards, and accreditation requirements.
  • Incorporate innovative teaching methods, technologies, and pedagogical approaches.
  • Serve as a Campus Security Authority (CSA).

Requirements

  • Earned masters degree in Speech Language Pathology or a closely related field from an accredited university with a minimum of 18 graduate hours in the teaching discipline.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Earned doctorate/terminal degree in a closely related field from an accredited university with a minimum of 18 graduate hours in the teaching discipline.
  • Previous online teaching experience at the collegiate level.

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

  • Knowledge and understanding of disciplinary subject matter at a level adequate for undergraduate and graduate-level instruction.
  • Written and oral communication skills sufficient to conduct effective teaching activities.
  • Ability to interact with students, staff, and faculty in a professional, collegial, and collaborative manner.
