Adjunct Instructor - Business & Technology (LIEOC)
About the role
The LIEOC at Farmingdale State College periodically seeks experienced instructors to teach business and technology courses to adult learners. Courses offered include, but are not limited to, Administrative Assistant, Electronic Health Records, Quick Books, Digital Marketing and Entrepreneurship, Digital Literacy, and MOS certification. Classes are offered on various days of the week on both morning and evening schedules in both in person and online modalities.
Responsibilities
Successful candidates will be experienced and adept at teaching business or technological skills to all levels of adult students.
Requirements
- Minimum Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in business, business education, technology, or a related field
- At least three years of experience teaching
- Strong written and communication skills
- Willingness to teach mornings or evenings
- Ability to teach in person and online
- Experience working with people of diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds
- A philosophy of education appropriate for the adult learner
- Additional Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in Higher Education, Adult Education, business, or technology
- At least five years of experience teaching in adult education or higher education
- Knowledge of D2L Brightspace and Banner
- Experience using online platforms/instructional technology

Pay
Pursuant to Executive Order 161, no State entity, as defined by the Executive Order, is permitted to ask, or mandate, in any form, that an applicant for employment provide his or her current compensation, or any prior compensation history, until such time as the applicant is extended a conditional offer of employment with compensation.
