Adjunct Instructor - Automotive Technology

Truman College is seeking a part-time faculty member to teach Automotive Technology courses. The ideal candidate will have a passion for teaching and learning, and a commitment to the mission of the community college.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate excellence in teaching, integrating new technologies into the learning process, and inspiring students to succeed.
  • Maintain office hours for advising, mentoring, and coaching students.
  • Develop and revise courses and instructional materials as necessary.
  • Post syllabi and grades on Brightspace.

Requirements

  • Current certification from the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE).
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Current ASE certifications in A6, G1, and a certificate in the teaching area (preferably A1, A2, A3, A4, or A5).
  • Consideration of obtaining ASE Master Certification status in the future for expanded teaching opportunities.
  • Three (3) years minimum automotive service experience.
  • Exceptional communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of modern automobiles, current testing equipment, and diagnostic strategies.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Pay

The salary range for this position is $800.00 - $943.00 per contact hour, in accordance with City Colleges' approved salary scale.
