Adjunct Instructor- Art Appreciation
About the role
This position is designated as a security sensitive position and requires a satisfactory criminal history background check. Males between the ages of 18 through 25 must be properly registered with the Selective Service System to be eligible for employment.
Responsibilities
- Teach courses in the approved discipline
- Provide instruction to facilitate student acquisition of the specific learning outcomes identified for the assigned courses
- Mentor students inside and outside of the classroom
- Create and maintain an effective learning environment in the modalities of the courses assigned
- Attend adjunct faculty meetings
- Assess courses on departmental and institutional levels
- Complete any required training
Requirements
- Minimum of 4 semesters college level experience in online, hybrid, and/or face-to-face classroom modalities, with enrollments comprising traditional and non-traditional student populations
- Experience teaching face to face and online art appreciation
Qualifications
- All faculty members must provide minimum Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) credential standards which normally include an earned Master’s degree in the teaching discipline or a Master’s degree with 18 graduate semester credit hours in the teaching discipline. Transcripts, certificates, and/or license must be submitted with application.

- Instruct in face-to-face, hybrid, online, and dual credit courses
- Provide instruction that achieves the specific goals and objectives associated with all assigned courses
- Create a professional and effective learning environment in the classroom and/or laboratory
- Communicate effectively with students, college personnel and administration, peers and public groups

- Exercise the highest professional and ethical standards in the use of College time and resources

$1,018 per load unit
Schedule
Hours vary, depending on the need and course schedule, and may include day, evening, and/or weekend instruction.
