Adjunct - Humanities (Philosophy, History & Religious Studies)
Instruction & Student Learning
The Adjunct position teaches assigned courses as scheduled. They design curriculum embracing diversity, fostering talent in students through inclusive teaching strategies, and addressing individual student needs. They participate in identifying students with academic or other needs and respond appropriately, using technology and clear communication to set expectations for its use.
The incumbent keeps accurate records, submits grades on time, and provides ongoing feedback to students. They distribute and maintain accurate syllabi, conduct classes punctually, and employ assessment techniques to measure student performance.
The Adjunct engages in periodic meetings with the department, Lead Instructor, and Chairperson regarding teaching duties and professional development.
Student Engagement & Advisement
The Adjunct creates a positive classroom atmosphere encouraging active and collaborative learning, academic challenge, and student-faculty interaction. They use technology to communicate with students and refer them to appropriate support services.

Qualifications
- Master's degree in the appropriate discipline or closely related field
- At least 18 graduate hours specifically in the discipline
- State Motor Vehicle Operator's License or demonstrable ability to gain access to work site(s)
