Adjunct- Human Biology Instructor

Adjunct instructor needed to teach Human Biology, Human Anatomy, and/or Physiology courses. Each course meets 3 hours of lecture and 2 hours of lab per week. Current openings are for face-to-face daytime and/or evening classes at the Dowagiac and/or Niles campuses.

Responsibilities

• Deliver lectures and lead laboratory sessions in Human Biology, Human Anatomy, and/or Physiology.
• Promote active and collaborative learning through varied teaching methods.
• Relate effectively to students and use instructional technology.

Requirements

• Master’s degree with at least 18 semester credit hours of graduate coursework in Human Biology, Human Anatomy, Physiology, or a closely related field.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to perform the following physical tasks with or without reasonable accommodation:
  • Stooping, crouching, reaching, lifting (up to 20 lbs occasionally and up to 10 lbs frequently).
  • Fingering, grasping, and tactile perception of object attributes.
  • Talking and hearing at normal speaking levels.
  • Close visual acuity for data analysis, transcription, computer work, and extensive reading.
  • Tolerating atmospheric conditions such as fumes, odors, dust, mists, gases, or poor ventilation.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree or higher in the subject area.
• Prior community college teaching experience.
