Key Responsibilities And Duties

  • Develop and teach undergraduate courses for a two-year automotive service technician program
  • Maintain a professional teaching learning environment
  • Maintain ASE accreditation for the program and teach to ASE standards
  • Manage classroom and shop/lab to ensure that there is a productive and safe learning environment
  • Promote college programs and enhance community relationships
  • Serve on College committees as elected or appointed
  • Select and recommend suitable instructional materials, and textbooks
  • Use technology effectively to communicate and to enhance classroom learning as appropriate
  • Maintain appropriate paperwork and documentation required by MassBay
  • Collaborate with faculty, staff, and students on the College’s strategic initiatives dedicated to closing the equity gap related to student outcomes
  • Support MassBay’s commitment to creating a welcoming and inclusive environment where all individuals are valued and respected

Minimum Qualifications

  • ASE Certifications
  • 5 years of field or work experience in automotive services
  • Proven oral and written communication and extensive experience with electronic communication

Preferred Qualifications

  • Sensitivity and commitment to the goals of Affirmative Action
  • Experience working in a community college or similar environment
  • Demonstrated commitment to working with students in need
  • ASE Master Certification with L1
  • Associate’s degree
