Key Responsibilities And Duties
- Develop and teach undergraduate courses for a two-year automotive service technician program
- Maintain a professional teaching learning environment
- Maintain ASE accreditation for the program and teach to ASE standards
- Manage classroom and shop/lab to ensure that there is a productive and safe learning environment
- Promote college programs and enhance community relationships
- Serve on College committees as elected or appointed
- Select and recommend suitable instructional materials, and textbooks
- Use technology effectively to communicate and to enhance classroom learning as appropriate
- Maintain appropriate paperwork and documentation required by MassBay
- Collaborate with faculty, staff, and students on the College’s strategic initiatives dedicated to closing the equity gap related to student outcomes
- Support MassBay’s commitment to creating a welcoming and inclusive environment where all individuals are valued and respected
Minimum Qualifications
- ASE Certifications
- 5 years of field or work experience in automotive services
- Proven oral and written communication and extensive experience with electronic communication
Preferred Qualifications
- Sensitivity and commitment to the goals of Affirmative Action
- Experience working in a community college or similar environment
- Demonstrated commitment to working with students in need
- ASE Master Certification with L1
- Associate’s degree
