About the Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled woodwinds music instructor to provide in-person instruction on 'Oahu. This is a temporary, part-time, semester-to-semester contract position.

Responsibilities

  • Provide weekly individual instruction in woodwind instruments (flute, clarinet, oboe, bassoon, and saxophone).
  • Assist with ensemble auditions.
  • Coach ensemble sectionals.
  • Prepare students for recitals and auditions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required in Music or a related field; Master’s preferred.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of professional performance and teaching experience.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Commitment to fostering a positive and engaging learning environment.

Pay

Approximate starting adjunct semester contract: $1,425 - $2,175 per credit, dependent upon applicant’s degree and years of university-level teaching experience.

Additional Requirements

As an educational institution affiliated with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, preference is given to qualified members of the Church in good standing. Applicants who are members must hold and be worthy to hold a current temple recommend and receive clearance from the Church’s Ecclesiastical Clearance Office. An expired temple recommend will prevent consideration for hire.
