Adjunct Faculty in Music

About the Role

The Department of Language, Literature, and Arts is seeking a part-time faculty member to instruct lower-division undergraduate sections of music appreciation to dual-credit high school students on the Somerset High School campus. Mode of delivery is face-to-face. There may also be additional teaching opportunities, including courses on the A&M-SA campus and online instruction.

Responsibilities

• Instruct music appreciation courses to dual-credit high school students.

Requirements

• Master’s Degree in Music, or a related field, from a regionally accredited institution.

Preferred Qualifications

• Three or more years of experience teaching music courses.
• Familiarity with a wide variety of music genres.
• Familiarity with the needs of a non-traditional, first-generation, multicultural student body.
• SBEC Texas Educator Certificate.

Pay

$3,000 per 3-credit course.
