Adjunct Faculty - Sewing Instructor

Core Competencies And Qualifications

• Earned Associate's degree from a regionally accredited institution in Apparel, Textiles, Industrial Sewing, Design and Merchandising, Manufacturing, CNC, or a manufacturing-related field with minimum two years industry experience; OR, earned Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution in another discipline with a minimum of five years industry experience; OR, earned Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution in another discipline with certifications relevant to the course.
• Master’s degree preferred.
• Minimum of 24 months full time work experience in the field.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Maintain curriculum
• Facilitate learning activities so that students learn the principles, theory, skills and work ethic necessary to become proficient for entry level positions
• Create a positive learning environment
• Monitor, assesses and advise learners on technical and academic progress and performance
• Provide midterm and final evaluations
• Use current academic and industry practices in assigned courses of instruction
• Maintain, update, design and/or develop new curriculum within assigned course of instruction
• Attend departmental meetings as requested
• Visit employers in the field
