Adjunct Faculty-School of IT
Major Responsibilities
- Facilitates student learning by delivering assigned classes in accordance with college policy and course objectives.
- Makes optimal use of available technology to enhance instructional methods.
- Develops/maintains course outlines, syllabi, lesson plans, assignments, tests, and materials.
- Maintains accurate student records, grades, and other requirements.
- Engages with students in meaningful and productive ways that impact student learning and leads to a positive experience with Ivy Tech Community College, show evidence of developing and implementing active classroom teaching strategies focused on engaging students with their learning (curricular).
- Interacts with students and co-workers in a professional and cooperative manner, complies with college policies, campus guidelines and expectations.
- Safeguards knowledge of and implements emergency and safety procedures for classrooms, labs and all learning environments.
Requirements
- A Master’s degree or higher in information technology, information systems, software development, computer science, cybersecurity, or a computer-related field.
- If not meeting the above qualification, then one of the following:
- An out-of-field master’s degree with documented 18 semester hours or the equivalent of courses beyond the introductory principle(s) level in information technology, information systems, software development, computer science, cybersecurity, or a computer-related field.
- A Bachelor’s degree in information technology, information systems, software development, computer science, cybersecurity, or a computer-related field with documentation in two or more of the following:
- IT Industry certification
- Two years of relevant professional experience
- Documentation of teaching excellence, including the date of the award
- Documentation of research and publication in the field
- Documentation of relevant additional coursework beyond the bachelor’s degree, equivalent to 18 semester hours or equivalent subject matter coursework, CEUs, vendor, or military.
