About the Role
The Adjunct Faculty Instructor provides subject matter expertise, teaches courses, adheres to lesson plans, meets course objectives, and maintains academic faculty ethical and professional behaviors.
Responsibilities
- Files an appropriate course syllabus for each course taught within the course shell of the appropriate Learning Management System.
- Ensures that each program/class contains essential curricular components, has appropriate content and pedagogy, and maintains currency.
- Maintains a high level of expertise in the subjects taught and stimulates enthusiasm for those subjects.
- Teaches all classes according to an approved course syllabus, ensuring that assigned classes are held as scheduled.
- Holds the final exam at the time scheduled unless permission to deviate has been approved by the department Dean/Director.
- Keeps students informed and updated concerning course content, requirements, evaluation procedures, and attendance requirements.
- Designs every unit and lesson to ensure both content and delivery methods are engaging and purposeful.
- Integrates instructional technologies into teaching approach.
- Organizes each course to optimize learning outcomes.
- Understands and caters to students' diverse learning styles to create an effective teaching and learning environment.
Requirements
- Associate's degree in related field, required.
- Bachelor's degree in related field, preferred.
- Information Technology industry-recognized certifications, preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years full-time work experience in industry preferred.
- Ability to work professionally with staff, students, administration, and others.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse student populations.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Accepts responsibility and fulfills commitments while promoting collaboration between day and evening program faculty.
