About the Role

The Adjunct Faculty Instructor provides subject matter expertise, teaches courses, adheres to lesson plans, meets course objectives, and maintains academic faculty ethical and professional behaviors.

Responsibilities

  • Files an appropriate course syllabus for each course taught within the course shell of the appropriate Learning Management System.
  • Ensures that each program/class contains essential curricular components, has appropriate content and pedagogy, and maintains currency.
  • Maintains a high level of expertise in the subjects taught and stimulates enthusiasm for those subjects.
  • Teaches all classes according to an approved course syllabus, ensuring that assigned classes are held as scheduled.
  • Holds the final exam at the time scheduled unless permission to deviate has been approved by the department Dean/Director.
  • Keeps students informed and updated concerning course content, requirements, evaluation procedures, and attendance requirements.
  • Designs every unit and lesson to ensure both content and delivery methods are engaging and purposeful.
  • Integrates instructional technologies into teaching approach.
  • Organizes each course to optimize learning outcomes.
  • Understands and caters to students' diverse learning styles to create an effective teaching and learning environment.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in related field, required.
  • Bachelor's degree in related field, preferred.
  • Information Technology industry-recognized certifications, preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years full-time work experience in industry preferred.
  • Ability to work professionally with staff, students, administration, and others.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse student populations.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Accepts responsibility and fulfills commitments while promoting collaboration between day and evening program faculty.
