Job Summary
Mercy University's School of Education Department of Early Childhood and Childhood Education is seeking adjunct faculty members for the Undergraduate Program Early Childhood and Childhood Education - STEM Concentration.
About the Role
The successful candidate will teach foundational and method courses at both the Dobbs Ferry and Bronx campuses.
Responsibilities
- Teach courses in the Early Childhood and Childhood Education - STEM Concentration program
- Teach on both the Dobbs Ferry and Bronx campuses in person during the day
- Experience in online teaching and learning
- Work with students from diverse backgrounds and needs
- Collaborate effectively with other faculty members
- Communicate effectively with students and colleagues
- Prepare teacher candidates for working with students with diverse learning needs in various settings
Requirements
- A teaching certificate from the relevant field (Early Childhood Education, Childhood Education, SWD)
- Teaching experiences in K-12 schools
- Teaching experiences in Higher Education
- A strong background in STEAM
- Ability to teach on the Dobbs Ferry and Bronx campuses in person during the day
- Experience in online teaching and learning
- Willingness to work with students from diverse backgrounds and needs
- Collegiality with other faculty members
- Effectiveness in communication
- Skills to prepare teacher candidates for working with students with diverse learning needs in a variety of settings
Qualifications
- A doctoral/M.S. degree from a relevant field (Early Childhood Education, Childhood Education, SWD)
- A teaching certificate from the relevant field (Early Childhood Education, Childhood Education, SWD)
