Job Summary

Mercy University's School of Education Department of Early Childhood and Childhood Education is seeking adjunct faculty members for the Undergraduate Program Early Childhood and Childhood Education - STEM Concentration.

About the Role

The successful candidate will teach foundational and method courses at both the Dobbs Ferry and Bronx campuses.

Responsibilities

  • Teach courses in the Early Childhood and Childhood Education - STEM Concentration program
  • Teach on both the Dobbs Ferry and Bronx campuses in person during the day
  • Experience in online teaching and learning
  • Work with students from diverse backgrounds and needs
  • Collaborate effectively with other faculty members
  • Communicate effectively with students and colleagues
  • Prepare teacher candidates for working with students with diverse learning needs in various settings

Requirements

  • A teaching certificate from the relevant field (Early Childhood Education, Childhood Education, SWD)
  • Teaching experiences in K-12 schools
  • Teaching experiences in Higher Education
  • A strong background in STEAM
  • Ability to teach on the Dobbs Ferry and Bronx campuses in person during the day
  • Experience in online teaching and learning
  • Willingness to work with students from diverse backgrounds and needs
  • Collegiality with other faculty members
  • Effectiveness in communication
  • Skills to prepare teacher candidates for working with students with diverse learning needs in a variety of settings

Qualifications

  • A doctoral/M.S. degree from a relevant field (Early Childhood Education, Childhood Education, SWD)
  • A teaching certificate from the relevant field (Early Childhood Education, Childhood Education, SWD)
