Adjunct Faculty – Quality and Engineering Management

About the role

Tarleton State University invites applications for an Adjunct Faculty position in the Quality and Engineering Management program within the Department of Engineering Technology. The part‑time role supports growing enrollment for the Academic Year 2026‑2027 on the Stephenville campus and online, with responsibilities centered on teaching, student support, and compliance with university policies.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging online courses, particularly in financial risk, project management, quality assurance, engineering economy, and industrial distribution.
• Develop course syllabi, select instructional materials, and design assessments such as exams, quizzes, papers, etc.
• Assess student performance, provide timely feedback, and evaluate student learning outcomes to inform teaching practices and curriculum improvements.
• Engage students in active learning, foster critical thinking skills, and provide opportunities for discussion, collaboration, and hands‑on learning, including practicing engineers seeking further career advancement.
• Provide academic support and guidance to students through office hours, feedback on assignments, and mentoring.
• Adhere to university policies, academic integrity standards, and accreditation requirements related to teaching responsibilities.
• Incorporate innovative teaching methods, technologies, and pedagogical approaches to enhance student learning and engagement.
• Serve as a Campus Security Authority (CSA).

Requirements

• PhD in Industrial or Systems Engineering or a related field from an accredited institution.
• Industry experience preferred.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.

Skills

• Knowledge and understanding of disciplinary subject matter at a level adequate for graduate‑level instruction.
• Written and oral communication skills sufficient to conduct effective teaching activities.
