About the role

The Department of Public Policy Programs seeks a public service academic or professional to teach Finance for Public Policy in the Spring semester. The course will be offered in a synchronous, online format mostly in the evening to accommodate the schedules of students who are also working professionals.

Responsibilities

• Teach a specific course (Finance for Public Policy) during the Spring semester in a synchronous, online format.
• Engage students using practical experience to educate on current and future practices of government, especially at the state level in California.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in a relevant field such as Public Policy, Public Administration, Finance, or related disciplines.
• Working knowledge of current office software including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Internet, and electronic email.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior teaching experience.
• Experience in local, state, or federal government.
• Experience in public finance, budgeting, or related areas of practice.
• Experience and sensitivity in working with people of diverse backgrounds and cultures.
• Ability to engage and integrate culturally responsive practices and knowledge in their work.
