Adjunct Faculty PT - Spanish

Duties and Responsibilities

• You must demonstrate excellence in teaching, commitment to integrating new technologies into the learning process and the ability to inspire, motivate and empower students to succeed.
• Maintain office hours for advising, mentoring and coaching students.
• Development and revision of courses and instructional materials as necessary.
• Post syllabi and grades on Blackboard.

Qualifications

• At minimum, you must have a MA in Spanish, with appropriate course work in Spanish, Linguistics, or Translation and Interpretation.
• Candidates should be certified as a translator or interpreter with five or more years of related occupational experience.
• In addition to the minimum requirements, you must be focused on effective teaching; assessment of student learning; and continuous growth in the field of study.
• We also value expertise in student-centered teaching; facility with instructional technology, including Blackboard Learning Management System; and a commitment to professional development in teaching.
• Able to teach various translation and interpreting courses, including but not limited to Fundamentals of Translation and Interpreting, Medical Interpreting, and Educational Interpreting.

Pay and Benefits

The salary range for this position is $800.00 - $943.00 per contact hour. The rate paid is in accordance with City Colleges approved salary scale. Benefits information is found at https://www.ccc.edu/departments/Benefits/.
