Adjunct Faculty Pool (Psychology), School of Communications

About the role

Columbia College Chicago seeks adjunct faculty to teach psychology courses in the School of Communication and Culture. Positions are part-time and contingent upon student enrollment and funding.

Responsibilities

• Teach courses in psychology within the Communication, Journalism, and Creative Writing BA programs and related areas.
• Engage with students from diverse backgrounds, contributing to a curriculum that dismantles systems of privilege and oppression.
• Advocate for and implement inclusive pedagogical strategies.

Requirements

• A terminal degree in psychology or a related discipline is preferred.
• Demonstrated currency in a specialized discipline or a sustained history of distinguished professional work, creative achievements, or significant experience in the relevant field may be considered as an alternative to the required degree.

Qualifications

• Possess a degree at least one level above the level at which you teach.
• Ability to work effectively with students from various social and cultural backgrounds.

Pay

Entry level compensation rate for teaching one 3-credit course as of Fall 2026 is $5,635.00. Compensation for courses that carry fewer or more than three credits will be prorated down or up accordingly.

Schedule

Part-time positions, contingent upon student enrollment and funding.
