Adjunct Faculty position teaching face-to-face paralegal courses at the Dallas campus.
About the Role
Adjunct Faculty refers to an educator hired to teach on a course-by-course basis throughout an academic year.
Responsibilities
- Teach live lectures to paralegal students at the Dallas campus.
- Develop and manage the class syllabus and ensure that the syllabus meets department and college standards.
- Plan and create lectures, in-class discussions, and assignments.
- Assess grades for students based on participation, performance in class, assignments, and examinations.
- Assist and mentor students as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Juris Doctorate degree.
- Three years of experience practicing law.
- Previous experience working with paralegals or legal assistants.
- Licensed by a state bar.
Skills
- Knowledgeable and current in the subject matter of assigned courses.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills to facilitate instruction and student engagement.
- Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.
Preferred Qualifications
- Current relevant professional credentials.
- College or university teaching experience.
- Evidence of teaching excellence.
- Prior relevant industry experience.
