Adjunct Faculty, Paralegal

About the Role

Adjunct faculty members at Colorado Mountain College assist students in their learning process by utilizing available staff resources, materials, facilities, and educational technologies. Responsibilities

• Teach assigned courses and evaluate student learning.
• Develop and submit course outlines, syllabi, and measurable objectives.
• Maintain accurate course records and complete required forms.
• Hold office hours and provide student consultation.
• Assist with advising, orientation, registration, and student recruitment.
• Engage in scholarly and creative activities to enhance discipline expertise.
• Participate in service activities, including campus committees, assessment, program review, and mentoring peers.
• Represent the college professionally in the community.
• Engage in professional development for credentialing.
• Supervise student employees, if applicable.
• Adhere to college safety and compliance policies.
• May require travel and evening/weekend hours.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in the specific field of the position or a Master’s degree with a minimum of 18 graduate credits in a related field (e.g., business, finance, management, or marketing for business roles).
• Minimum of one year of full-time teaching experience or equivalent adjunct experience; higher education teaching preferred.
• Strong background in computers, technology, and pedagogy.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently, research, analyze data, and meet deadlines.
• Commitment to working effectively with diverse students, employees, and community members.
• Must perform all duties within the State of Colorado and report work location accurately.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bilingual (English/Spanish) or conversational abilities in another language.
• Experience with sustainability initiatives and environmental stewardship.

Special Conditions

• Successful completion of a background check and motor vehicle records report (if applicable).

• May require occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling objects up to 50 lbs.
• Work involves constant sitting, computer use, and communication; occasional driving and physical activity.
