About the Role
Adjunct faculty members at Colorado Mountain College assist students in their learning process by utilizing available staff resources, materials, facilities, and educational technologies. The role emphasizes facilitating learning, scholarly endeavors, and service activities to support student success. Responsibilities
- Teach assigned courses and evaluate student learning.
- Develop and submit course outlines, syllabi, and measurable objectives.
- Maintain accurate course records and complete required forms.
- Hold office hours and provide student consultation.
- Assist with advising, orientation, registration, and student recruitment.
- Engage in scholarly and creative activities to enhance discipline expertise.
- Participate in service activities, including campus committees, assessment, program review, and mentoring peers.
- Represent the college professionally in the community.
- Engage in professional development for credentialing.
- Supervise student employees, if applicable.
- Adhere to college safety and compliance policies.
- May require travel and evening/weekend hours.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in the specific field of the position or a Master’s degree with a minimum of 18 graduate credits in a related field (e.g., business, finance, management, or marketing for business roles).
- Minimum of one year of full-time teaching experience or equivalent adjunct experience; higher education teaching preferred.
- Strong background in computers, technology, and pedagogy.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently, research, analyze data, and meet deadlines.
- Commitment to working effectively with diverse students, employees, and community members.
- Must perform all duties within the State of Colorado and report work location accurately.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) or conversational abilities in another language.
- Experience with sustainability initiatives and environmental stewardship.
Special Conditions
- Successful completion of a background check and motor vehicle records report (if applicable).
- Position is not eligible for visa sponsorship; applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S.
- May require occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling objects up to 50 lbs.
- Work involves constant sitting, computer use, and communication; occasional driving and physical activity.
