Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Uphold the best scholarly and ethical standards of his or her discipline.
- Make a reasonable effort to participate in professional development activities.
- Foster honest academic conduct and ensure evaluations reflect each student’s performance.
- Foster a respectful atmosphere in the classroom or an online learning environment.
- Treat all students with respect and fairness without regard to protected status.
- Demonstrate mastery of course material, prepare lessons, and present material conscientiously.
- Teach courses according to the description in the Course Master and Department policies.
- Be available for student consultations and provide guidance.
- Grade and return written work to students in a timely manner.
- Maintain appropriate records of students' attendance, grades, and submit reports on time.
- Develop and distribute an effective course syllabus, adhering to College policies and College course evaluation process.
- Attend scheduled staff meetings.
- Behave appropriately in dealing with students and staff to maintain a scholarly and professional atmosphere.
- Notify the Associate Dean if unable to meet scheduled class sessions and plan personal vacations accordingly.
- Perform, analyze, and report assessments of student learning.
Core Competencies And Qualifications
- Earned Bachelor's degree or higher from a regionally-accredited institution in Industrial Technology, Engineering (Computer, Electrical, Mechanical) or related sub-field as appropriate to course required.
- Valid Journeymen's card appropriate to area of instruction required.
- Minimum of 3 years industrial on-the-floor full-time work experience required.
- Demonstrated mastery of related software and technology required.
- Master's degree preferred.
- OSHA-10/30 Instructor Certification required.
