About the Role

The Nursing Clinical Adjunct is responsible for the general effectiveness of clinical experiences. This in-person position involves preparing and teaching clinical and/or laboratory nursing courses, working with the Lead Clinical Faculty, Clinical Coordinator, and Program Director.

Responsibilities

• Supervises students in clinical practice, internships, observations, field experiences, nursing labs, and other similar course and graduation requirements.
• Counsels or refers students with identified clinical performance problems.
• Maintains the highest moral and ethical standards as an educator, nursing professional, and community member.
• Debriefs and evaluates students in clinical practice, observations, and field experiences.
• Teaches the number of hours and courses stated in the employment contract for the stated time periods.
• Meets all clinical and other scheduled responsibilities such as office hours and meetings at the designated time.
• Articulates course learning outcomes or objectives to ensure student understanding of expectations.
• Creates course materials to deliver information in an understandable and engaging manner.
• Adheres to identified office hours and assists students in understanding course content and clinical scenarios.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing (required); master's degree in nursing (preferred).
• Two (2) years of experience in Pediatrics or Medical/Surgical.
• Current knowledge in the area of clinical practice.
• Experience in the clinical specialty area.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to build successful relationships with student populations.
• Outstanding conflict resolution skills.
• Demonstrated time management and detail-oriented skills.
• Computer-based skills (e.g., software, analytical, and report writing skills).
• Demonstrated clinical competency and professional standards of practice.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet frequently occurring deadlines.
• Ability to develop a professional rapport with diverse school/campus constituents.
• Ability to develop and complete projects without continued direct supervision.
• Ability to learn from students’ participation, demonstrate fair and consistent behavior, and show compassion without being ineffectual.
• Ability to perform within legal and ethical boundaries.

Qualifications

• Unencumbered RN nursing license.
• Membership in a professional association related to the area of instruction (preferred).
