Overview / Job Summary
WSU Tech is seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Adjunct Mental Health Technician Instructor to prepare the next generation of behavioral health professionals. Adjunct faculty provide high-quality instruction in both classroom and lab settings while fostering an engaging, supportive learning environment that promotes student success.
Requirements
- Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field with three (3) years of teaching experience in the discipline or subfield or a completed master's degree.
- A professional development plan to complete a master's degree may be considered.
- Licensed or registered to practice in Kansas, as applicable to the discipline.
- At least two years of experience in psychiatric or developmental disability nursing or behavioral health services.
- Be licensed to practice as a licensed mental health technician and have at least five years of experience post licensure.
- Two years of work experience shall be waived for those licensed mental health technicians possessing an associates degree.
- Skills and Competencies:
- Qualified faculty as defined by program accreditation requirements.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to effectively engage and motivate diverse learners.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Proficiency with instructional technology and learning management systems.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with faculty and staff.
- Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
