Adjunct Faculty-Mental Health Counseling - Puerto Rico

Responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver bilingual instruction in Spanish and English.
• Utilize the Canvas Learning Management System to manage course content and assessments.
• Evaluate student performance and provide timely feedback.
• Support adult learners in a rigorous academic environment.

Requirements

• Doctoral degree in Mental Health Counseling or Counselor Education from a recognized and accredited U.S. higher education institution.
• Four (4) or more years of experience teaching at the graduate level in Counseling (excluding Rehabilitation Counseling), or equivalent academic leadership experience in higher education.
• Bilingual Proficiency: Fluent in both English and Spanish, with English used for course design.
• Demonstrated experience teaching with Learning Management Systems (LMS), preferably Canvas.
• Current engagement in the field, including recent research, methodologies, and best practices in Counseling education.
• Desirable: Evidence of scholarly publications or professional contributions in the field.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, faculty, staff, and administrators.
• Ability to adhere to University policies and handle confidential information with discretion within FERPA and HIPAA guidelines.

Pay

$500 - $1,200 per credit. Adjunct faculty pay rates vary, depending on the academic discipline and the course's credit load and level.

Schedule & Location

Courses are delivered in a hybrid format on weekends, at pre-scheduled dates and times, on our San Patricio, Puerto Rico Campus.
