Job Description
Teaches a wide range of courses in Media and Journalism Studies
Prepares and delivers learning activities in order to achieve course outcomes
Prepares course materials such as syllabi, homework assignments and handouts
Evaluates and grades students’ class work, laboratory work, assignments, papers, and examinations
Maintains and submits student attendance records, grades and other required documentation by specified deadlines
Be available to students for coaching
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree or higher in Journalism/Mass Communications; or master’s degree in related field with at least 18 graduate-level course hours in Journalism/Mass Communications
- Professional experience with news writing, social media, and mass communication styles
- Demonstrated experience in the use of instructional technologies to teach traditional, hybrid and/or distance learning classes, and /or as a supplement
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (or equivalent)
- Advanced communication (verbal, written and interpersonal) and organizational skills
- Appropriately responds to the needs of the community
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years recent professional experience in the journalism field
- Teaching experience
Special Note
This is a part-time (adjunct) faculty position. Candidates will be interviewed and hired on an as-needed basis throughout the academic year.

Special Note: This is a Part-Time Faculty position, with the following set rate of pay: $942.00/Equated Semester Unit (ESU)
