About the role

The primary responsibilities of the Adjunct Faculty member are the development and delivery of lectures, laboratory sessions, and clinical skills for Master of Science in Physician Associate Studies (MSPA) program students in MSPA 5144 Clinical and Diagnostic Skills (24 hours) during the Fall semester (September 18 to December 11).

Responsibilities

  • Teaches 30-hours in the 4-credit hour, semester-long course for 15 weeks;
  • Designs active learning activities to build technical skills;
  • Develops formative and summative assessments with case studies and lab practicals;
  • Evaluates student performance (e.g., written assignments, examinations, lab practicals);
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • A minimum of a Master’s degree (from an ARC-PA accredited program or equivalent post PA-C Master’s degree)
  • A minimum of 3 years of clinical experience as a PA including proficiency in performing clinical procedures in a clinical setting.
  • A current NCCPA certification and current PA licensure or eligibility for PA licensure in California.

  • Possess the ability to listen to all points of view, build consensus, and inform others of policies and decisions;
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and present complex issues to diverse individuals and groups;
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to changing priorities.

Skills

  • Ability to maintain good concentration level while dealing with interruptions;
  • Attention to details with emphasis on accuracy;
  • Capable of giving, receiving, and analyzing information, formulating work plans, and articulating goals and action plans.

Pay

This is a part-time, exempt, adjunct faculty position and is not eligible for benefits. Schedules will vary depending on course assignments and the needs of the department or the Institute. The base salary range for this position is $2,500 - $15,000 per semester, depending on credits per course.
