Adjunct Faculty – Lab Assistant - Acupuncture

Responsibilities

  • Deliver instruction in a classroom setting
  • Provide experiential instruction in the acupuncture program
  • Create an engaging active learning environment for students
  • Provide students with periodic evaluations of their progress toward meeting course objectives
  • Apply grading policies fairly and consistently
  • Adhere to the course syllabus, provided by the course faculty, which includes course objectives and learning outcomes, teaching methodology, attendance policies in line with those of MCPHS, and assessment criteria, including assignments, deliverables, timelines
  • Additional responsibilities may be assigned by the course faculty

Requirements

Teaching practical skills courses to graduate students

Subject matter may include point location, needling, adjunctive techniques and/or palpatory skills, depending upon the course

Qualifications

Experience in acupuncture education or related field

Ability to teach in a classroom and lab settings

Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Knowledge of relevant academic standards and accreditation requirements

Skills

Effective teaching and instructional design skills

Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities

Excellent organizational and time management skills

Salary is commensurate with experience

Schedule

Hired by the semester: Fall is September-December, Spring is January-April, Summer is mid-May-early August
