Adjunct Faculty, Jewelry and Fabrication

The adjunct faculty members of Colorado Mountain College assist students in their learning process by utilizing available resources, materials, facilities, and educational technologies. Qualifications
- Minimum of a master’s degree in the specific field for the position or a master’s degree with at least 18 graduate credits in a related field (e.g., for business: business, finance, management, marketing, or related fields).
- Minimum of one-year full-time teaching experience or equivalent adjunct teaching experience; higher education teaching experience preferred.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) or conversational language abilities preferred.
Skills
- Strong background in computers and technology.
- Excellent organizational, general office, and communication skills.
- Ability to research, analyze data, and work independently toward established goals and deadlines.
- Knowledge of pedagogy and at least two years of teaching experience.
- Customer-oriented with attention to detail.
Responsibilities
- Teach assigned courses and evaluate student learning.
- Develop and submit course outlines, syllabi, and measurable course objectives.
- Maintain accurate course records and complete required forms.
- Hold office hours and assist with advising, orientation, and registration activities.
- Engage in scholarly and creative activities to enhance discipline expertise and learning.
- Participate in service activities, including campus and college committees, assessment, program review, student organizations, recruiting, and retention.
- Prepare lesson plans aligned with approved course objectives.
- Develop professional rapport with students and staff to encourage communication.
- Assist in student recruitment and curriculum evaluation as appropriate.
- Represent the college professionally in the community and engage in required professional development.
Working Conditions
- Constant sitting; occasional walking, standing, and driving.
- Occasional handling of objects, pushing/pulling, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Frequent use of hands/fingers for computer and office equipment.
- Constant written and oral communication, with occasional analytical and calculation tasks.
- May require travel and evening/weekend hours.
This position reports to the Assistant Dean of Instruction or designee and may supervise student employees. Successful completion of a background check and motor vehicle records report (when applicable) is required. Employees must adhere to all safety and compliance policies and perform duties within the State of Colorado.
