About the role
The successful candidate will join a dynamic, collaborative and diverse faculty educating highly motivated students. SSC is one of the state’s fastest growing colleges with six sites panning Seminole County, enrollment exceeding 25,000 and offering more than 200 degrees and programs, including eleven bachelor’s degrees.
Responsibilities
- Teaching strategies will be incorporated to foster student learning, success and retention.
- Work with other faculty in support of curricula improvement as appropriate to promote students' success and mastery of course and program competencies.
- Plan, organize and teach classes as assigned.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Humanities OR Master's degree in Liberal Arts with a Humanities core OR Master’s degree with at least 18 graduate hours in at least two of the following:
- American Studies with a Humanities focus
- Anthropology
- Art Appreciation/History
- Classics
- Cultural Studies (e.g. Popular Culture, American Culture, Asian Culture, or African American Culture)
- Drama
- English/Creative Writing
- Foreign Languages with a Humanities focus
- History; Humanities; Interdisciplinary Studies with Humanities focus
- Literature (in English, Modern, and/or Classical Languages e.g. Spanish, Greek, Japanese); Music; Philosophy Religion/Theology
- Theatre and Western/Eastern Civilization
Desired Qualifications
- Demonstrated understanding of the learning centered approach to teaching.
- Teaching experience desired.
Skills
- A personal and professional commitment to creating an atmosphere of quality instruction at SSC.
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to utilize technology and innovative pedagogy to enhance teaching and learning.
- Understanding of and commitment to working with a diverse student population in a multicultural environment.

Salary Is According To The Educational Degree Hourly Rate Per Course
