Adjunct Faculty – Honors Program – AY26-27

Position Summary

The University Honors Program offers several 1- and 2-credit Honors Seminars throughout the academic year. HNRS 2000 and HNRS 3000 are 1-credit courses that meet once per week for 50 minutes and are required for Honors students in their second and final years, respectively. HNRS 24xx are 2-credit courses that meet once per week for 110 minutes and are intended for students of all majors.

Essential Functions

  • Meet with students for scheduled class time once per week: 50 minutes for HNRS 2000/3000) or 110 minutes for HNRS 24xx.
  • Deliver an Honors-level learning experience.

Required Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in a relevant discipline.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Terminal degree in a relevant discipline.

Work Schedule

While the University's administrative offices are open Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm, faculty schedules vary from term to term and are based on courses taught, service commitments, and research agendas. The University's academic calendars are posted on the registrar's website (the law school is on a semester system and has a different academic calendar).

Pay

Course Rate: $1,290 per credit hour: $1,290 total for HNRS 2000/3000 (1 credit) and $2,580 total for HNRS 24xx (2 credits). The classes are taught as faculty overload and provide compensation of $1,290 per credit hour.
