About the Role

Mills College at Northeastern University is seeking a part-time Adjunct Faculty member to teach an Intro to Ethnic Studies course on the Oakland campus in the Fall 2026 Semester. Through its research, teaching, and engagement missions, the college collaborates across the university, the Northeastern network, and partners around the globe.

Responsibilities

Teach the following course:

  • INMI 1051: Intro to Ethnic Studies (4 credits)
  • Develop assignments, assessments, and a course schedule to meet required learning outcomes
  • Create a syllabus
  • Develop and deliver course content using Mills College at Northeastern teaching and learning platforms and facilities
  • Hold appropriate office hours
  • Complete Heliocampus assessment requirements
  • Engage with departmental and university part-time faculty obligations as required

This course will be taught in person on the Mills College at Northeastern campus in Oakland, California.

Requirements

  • M.A. required; Ph.D. or doctorate in a related field preferred
  • Preference given to candidates with experience teaching large groups of students and students with diverse needs

Pay

The per-credit rate is $2,435.76.
