Adjunct Faculty - English Composition I

About the role

The Arizona College of Nursing seeks adjunct instructors to teach on campus and in person. This position requires a master’s degree or higher in the subject area, or a master’s degree with relevant graduate coursework. Applicants must have at least two years of practical experience in the course content area or three years of experience if the degree is in an unrelated field. A minimum of three years of work experience as an educator is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide a learning experience in the classroom, online, and/or in the lab using various teaching methods including lectures and demonstrations.
• Evaluate student achievements through administering oral, written, or performance tests.
• Evaluate student performance and identify those at risk of not succeeding, referring them to the Student Success Coordinator.
• Maintain grade books, track attendance, and perform other administrative duties as needed.
• Manage student behavior in the classroom/online and establish clear objectives for all learning activities.
• Participate in ongoing conferences, seminars, and training sessions.
• Offer ongoing student advisement and academic counseling.
• Provide input and participate in academic committees.

Requirements

A minimum of 15 credit hours or equivalent in the assigned subject area is required. States of Georgia, Ohio, Texas, and Virginia require a master’s degree in the discipline or a master’s degree with 18 semester credit hours of relevant graduate coursework. Two years of practical experience in the course content area with a related degree, or three years of practical experience if the degree is in an unrelated field, is required. A minimum of three years of work experience as an educator is preferred.
