About the role

Batten University invites applications for a part-time position in Fall 2026 to teach one or two in-person sections of ENG 105 The Art of Writing.

Duties And Responsibilities

• Prepare syllabi that meet the Batten syllabus guidelines and provide these to students on the first day of class.
• Submit mid-term reports, final grades, and C- reports per guidelines provided by the University Registrar.
• Comply with FERPA regulations.
• Collaborate with campus support services as needed to support students.
• Communicate with students via office hours and email.
• Be on time and prepared for class sessions and grade, provide feedback, and return assignments within a reasonable time period.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in English or a related field is required. A terminal degree is preferred.
• Composition teaching experience is required.
• Able to learn and use Blackboard Ultra, the University Learning Management System.
• Strong communication skills.
