About the role
Northern Essex Community College (NECC) seeks adjunct faculty to teach English composition courses on an as-needed basis for the Fall 2026 and Spring 2027 semesters. Assignments may include English Composition I or English Composition II (3-credit courses) at the Haverhill or Lawrence campuses, primarily during day and evening hours, with the possibility of Early College, online, or hybrid instruction pending enrollment and training completion.
Responsibilities
- Teach assigned courses in accordance with the Academic Catalog description and established departmental student learning outcomes.
- Adhere to NECC policies and MCCC contract requirements, including grading policies, deadlines, evaluation processes, syllabus requirements, LMS materials, and required meetings.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in English, Writing, or Literature.
- Experience teaching in a related academic discipline at the college level.
- Experience using technology in instruction and assessment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Community college teaching experience.
- Experience with online and hybrid teaching and experiential learning.
- Bilingual (Spanish/English).
- Experience working with and supporting a culturally diverse population.
Conditions of Employment
- All candidates must have legal authorization to work in the United States; NECC does not provide employment-based visa sponsorship.
- Employment is contingent upon a successful background check including CORI and SORI review.
Pay
$1,512.00/credit – $1,826.00/credit, per the DCE Contract, non-benefited.
