Adjunct Faculty - English

Responsibilities

• Conduct classes using appropriate instructional practices
• Maintain records of attendance
• Evaluate student performance on assignments or lab activities
• Assign mid-term and final grades
• Utilize faculty feedback
• Complete mandatory training as needed
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Available to teach on ground during the day and/or with Dual Enrollment program
• Familiarity with holistic support for students outside the classroom
• Supports the College’s goals and divisional efforts to utilize best practices
• Provides fair-minded services and support for students, faculty, and staff
• Demonstrates a comprehensive grasp on academic study
• Exhibits a commitment to promoting academic excellence in students
• Displays self-discipline and self-motivation
• Communicates effectively with diverse audiences in verbal and written form
• Knowledgeable about or willing to learn about equity-minded principles and practices related to supporting students

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in ENGLISH from a regionally accredited institution
• PREFERRED: High school and/or college level teaching experience
• PREFERRED: Experience with alternative delivery instructional modes – hybrid, online, virtual
