About the Role

The College of Professional Studies at Northeastern University invites applications for a non-tenure track part-time faculty lecturer in the Graduate School of Education on the Oakland campus. The successful candidate will teach graduate-level courses in the Master of Arts in Educational Leadership program, which prepares current and aspiring educational leaders with the knowledge and skills needed for leadership in K-12 settings. The curriculum emphasizes the integration of research and practice, reflective leadership, educational equity, and the application of theory to real-world educational settings.

The College of Professional Studies is one of ten colleges at Northeastern University, a nationally ranked private research university. Founded in 1960, the College provides lifelong experiential learning for undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral students in more than 90 programs. Northeastern University will not provide employment visa sponsorship for this position.

Responsibilities

  • Teach graduate courses within the Master of Arts in Educational Leadership program, including Working with Families and the Community and other courses aligned with the candidate’s expertise.
  • Prepare and teach course sessions, develop and assess assignments, and maintain course materials in Canvas.
  • Facilitate graduate-level discussion and applied learning, grade student work, and provide feedback.
  • Meet with students as needed and support them in connecting research, theory, policy, and professional practice.
  • Work with global student populations and address educational equity through collaborative and inclusive approaches.

Qualifications

  • Doctorate degree in education, educational leadership, or a related field required.
  • Relevant professional experience and demonstrated expertise in one or more areas of the Educational Leadership curriculum.
  • Experience teaching graduate students and connecting academic knowledge with educational leadership practice preferred.
  • Substantial professional or educational experience in family and community engagement, school and community partnerships, or related work preferred (for courses focused on working with families and communities).
  • Experience working with diverse communities and addressing educational equity is also preferred.

Pay

The per-credit rate for this position is $2,435.76.
