Job Summary

We are seeking an instructor to teach DMD 127: Survey of Social Media within the Digital Media and Design Department. The course provides an introductory examination of social media's historical, social, cultural, and economic contexts, while equipping students to become informed users and decision-makers through hands-on practice in designing a simulated marketing campaign.

Job Description

  • Teach courses in subject field.
  • Develop instructional materials.
  • Audit student learning and assign grades.
  • Attend required Adjunct meetings in the Fall and Spring semesters.
  • Participate in college governance and other aspects of academic life.

Required Qualification(s)

  • Bachelor's degree in Media Studies, Digital Media, Media Arts, Communication, Journalism, Digital Marketing, Public Relations, Advertising, Sociology (with a focus on digital culture or social behavior), or a related discipline.
  • At least 9 credit hours in critical thinking courses related to media studies, social/cultural studies, humanities, philosophy, communications, or similar disciplines.
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience, including practical and/or professional work in the field ("tested experience").

Desired Qualification(s)

  • Master's degree in one of the above-listed disciplines.
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English.
