Adjunct Faculty - Department of Computer Science

The Computer Science Department invites applications for adjunct faculty positions. As one of six departments in the College of Science & Mathematics, the department offers both undergraduate and graduate programs in Computer Science, Data Science, Computing & Informatics, Computer Systems Technology, and Cybersecurity. It is among the largest departments on campus and delivers courses in both in-person and online formats.

About the role

• Holds a master’s degree in computer science or a closely related technical field.
• Prior teaching experience, relevant industry experience, and/or professional certification or licensure are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Teach courses in Computer Science, Data Science, Computing & Informatics, Computer Systems Technology, and Cybersecurity.
• Contribute to the development and improvement of curriculum.
• Participate in departmental and college committees.

Requirements

• Eligible to work in the United States.
• Minimum of $2,225 per credit for all courses taught, with a maximum teaching load of 8 credits per semester and 12 credits in an academic year.
• Courses will be assigned to instructors by College & Department on an as-needed basis.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in computer science or a closely related technical field.
• Prior teaching experience, relevant industry experience, and/or professional certification or licensure are preferred.

Skills

• Ability to teach in both in-person and online formats.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
