Adjunct Faculty - Computer Science

About the role

Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) is seeking part-time adjunct faculty to teach day, evening and/or online classes for the Department of Computer Science. Part-time faculty positions are created to provide an available applicant pool for the department. Positions will be filled on an as needed basis. Start dates will vary by course and semester.

Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses on campus, off campus in a corporate setting or online.
• Integrate into related activities at WPI with teaching assignments matched with the background and availability of the applicant.
• Teach in areas such as Foundations of Computer Science, Algorithms, Software Engineering and Object-Oriented Design, Interface Design and Artificial Intelligence.
• Teach introductory computer science courses emphasizing program design using languages like Kotlin, Python, Java and C/C++.
• Show ability to teach in other areas.

Requirements

• Hold an advanced degree in Computer Science or related discipline.
• Have significant practical experience in the relevant area.
• Have successful undergraduate or graduate teaching experience.

Pay

$7,500 - $7,850 per course

Schedule

Positions will be filled on an as needed basis. Start dates will vary by course and semester.
