Adjunct Faculty - Cosmetology

Provide excellence in teaching and learning, promote student success, and support economic development.

Responsibilities

• Abide by all KY Board of Cosmetology rules and regulations
• Develop classroom lesson plans and record grades in Blackboard
• Provide practical and client laboratory instruction and supervision for Cosmetology I–IV students
• Maintain student and client infection control procedures within the practical and client laboratory
• Maintain record keeping for student hours as indicated by the KY Board of Cosmetology
• Engage in community service
• Attend professional development activities that directly relate to job responsibilities and will enhance student success
• Responsible for instruction in cosmetology courses
• Apply multiple teaching methods, education principles, practices, and methodologies for all facets of cosmetology training
• Demonstrate hair, makeup, nails and/or skin care services and walk students through the procedures step-by-step
• Work effectively with a team
• Report to the program coordinator

Minimum Qualifications

• A current KY Cosmetology License
• A current KY Cosmetology instructor license

Preferred Qualifications

• At least 3 years of experience as a cosmetologist in the industry
• A commitment to teaching excellence
• The ability to adapt to multiple student learning needs
