Adjunct Faculty, Chemistry
About the position
SUNY Plattsburgh is seeking adjunct laboratory instructors to teach organic chemistry laboratories in the afternoon and evenings during the fall and spring semesters. Successful candidates will be committed to excellence in teaching in an institution dedicated primarily to undergraduate education. They will be expected to demonstrate an understanding of and sensitivity to diversity and gender issues.

Requirements
- Degree in chemistry, chemical engineering or biochemistry with experience in handling common organic glassware, solvents, concentrated acids/bases and waste disposal OR applicable degree and appropriate experience
- Master’s degree (preferred)
Qualifications
Some Adjunct Instructors assigned to laboratories, theaters, or studios (art, theater, science) must participate in mandatory safety training before they can begin work. Training sessions are provided by the College during the first week of each semester.
Benefits
No additional compensation is provided for attendance at the mandatory safety training sessions.
