Responsibilities

  • Comply with the Life University Honor Code as well as all university and college policies, including those in the Faculty Handbook.
  • Primarily responsible for the instruction, supervision and evaluation of students in the classroom and/or laboratory setting as well as course assessments for the department.
  • Prepare a syllabus for each course taught using the college template and post it to the class on the Blackboard site after approval from the Program Coordinator.
  • Utilize strategies to relate technology concepts from class in a meaningful way to a range of students, especially for non-business majors.
  • Teach class in a professional manner, teaching the material that is present in the syllabus and course outline while complying with guidance from the Program Coordinator.
  • Start and end each class on time.
  • Post in a prominent place your teaching and student office hours schedule for each quarter. (One student hour is required weekly per class in addition to class time).
  • Be present during student office hours.
  • Appropriately maintain all necessary records for each course taught.
  • Submit IT work order requests as needed to address repairs and maintain the computer lab in optimum condition.
  • Request peers to assist you in proctoring exams in very large classes. For large classes, every exam should have at least one proctor and the instructor present.
  • Attend scheduled meetings and events as appropriate and as requested by supervisor or program coordinator.
  • Cultivate in oneself and others an attitude of helpfulness, personal commitment to building relationships, managing to the best solution, and user friendly always.

Requirements

  • A minimum of a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) or a masters degree in a related discipline.
  • Substantial industry experience and industry Certification(s) preferred.
  • Significant experience teaching face-to-face technology courses at the college level.
  • Availability for travel to the Marietta campus multiple days throughout the week, with preference given to those with daytime schedule availability.
  • Strong teaching and laboratory skills for face-to-face classes. (This position is not primarily for online classes.)
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Commitment to maintain confidentiality in regard to students/employee information.
  • Able to prioritize and manage multiple projects, adhering to strict timelines.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Highly developed analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Advanced multimedia and computer skills.
