Adjunct Faculty- Building Construction Technology

About the role

Adjunct Faculty are hired on an as-needed basis to teach 8 or 16 week courses. Responsibilities include facilitating student learning, using technology effectively, and maintaining accurate records.

Responsibilities

• Deliver assigned classes in accordance with College policy and course objectives.
• Makes optimal use of available technology to enhance instructional methods.
• Create/maintain course outlines, syllabi, lesson plans, assignments, tests, and materials.
• Achieve student success by engaging in meaningful interactions and leading to a positive experience with Ivy Tech Community College.
• Comply with College policies, campus guidelines, and emergency/safety procedures.

Requirements

• Strong working knowledge of current technologies relevant to the discipline.
• Faculty credentials as outlined in the ASOM 7.1 for the specific area(s) of instruction.
• Respects and promotes diversity in the workplace.
• Education:
  • Associate degree or higher, directly related to the program’s discipline.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher, directly related to the program’s discipline.
• Three to five years of directly related work experience, linked to the competencies listed in the Curriculum of Record (COR).
• Knowledge in General Contracting, including framing, detailing, finishing, concrete work, scheduling, and surveying.
