About the Role

DeVoe School of Business, Technology, and Leadership is seeking experienced Adjunct Faculty to teach undergraduate and graduate applied A.I. courses in an online, asynchronous format. Additional opportunities exist to teach international student courses in a hybrid format, which includes online coursework and a two-day in-person session located in Merrillville, IN or Dallas, TX.

Responsibilities

  • Perform instruction-related duties and responsibilities in a timely manner and in accordance with the mission, policies, and procedures of the college.
  • Employ a range of suitable strategies to foster student learning, stimulate class discussions, encourage active learning in all students, maintain proper class-related records, promptly assess student coursework, and apprise students of progress.
  • Articulate current knowledge within the discipline and demonstrate a passion for teaching and learning with related professional experience.
  • Incorporate Biblical principles into the content area.
  • Communicate with all IWU constituents in a professional and academic manner.

Requirements

Qualifications

Education

  • Doctoral degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Mathematics, Information Technology, or related field. Or a Doctorate with 18 graduate hours in the field.
  • Applicants with a Master’s degree and 5+ years of applied A.I. and/or analytics experience will be considered.

Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in A.I., data science, and/or the integration of emerging technology into the business environment. This may include cross-disciplinary experience in fields such as healthcare, finance, manufacturing, business, and education.
  • Prior teaching experience preferred.
  • Applicants with at least five years of relevant work experience in Data Analytics/Science, Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, or Information Technology are invited to apply.
  • Teaching experience in cross-cultural settings preferred (not required).

Skills

  • Ability to model an active and mature personal faith in Jesus Christ.
  • Demonstrated subject matter expertise and active involvement in continuous education/scholarship in the field.
  • Passion and ability to teach effectively, including effective written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to motivate and connect with students of diverse ages, cultures, and backgrounds.
  • Ability to be engaged, reliable, and professional in a distributed work environment.
  • Proficiency in MS Office products and online Learning Management software.
