About Us

Founded in 1968 to meet the post-secondary and continuing education needs of Cecil County residents, Cecil College has been serving the community and shaping its future for more than 50 years. The College is governed by a Board of Trustees appointed by the governor. The College’s fifth president, Dr. Mary Way Bolt, reports directly to the Board of Trustees. Cecil College is centrally located in Maryland’s most northeastern county, just one half mile from Interstate 95. It is easily accessible from Philadelphia and Baltimore, as well as from Wilmington, Delaware. With a diverse student population, Cecil College enrolls approximately 2,500 credit students and 3,400 non-credit students. Cecil offers associate degrees, certificate programs and non-credit classes.

Looking For Adjunct Faculty

To Teach The Following Anatomy & Physiology I lecture and two labs
The lecture meets Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:00pm-7:20pm
One lab is on Tuesdays from 7:30pm-9:20pm and the other lab is on Thursdays from 7:30pm-9:20pm
The semester runs 9/1/26 through 12/17/26.

Details

The term "Adjunct" has a very specific meaning. An Adjunct Faculty is a contract employee hired to teach specific course(s) during an academic term on a part-time basis. An Adjunct Faculty member is not eligible for benefits.

Essential Job Functions

  • Convey the course material so that students can attain the instructional objectives of the course.
  • If requested to do so by the Department Chairperson, complete a course assessment for courses taught under the terms of this contract.
  • Ensure that all course material is available to students the first day of class via Cecil College’s Learning Management system.
  • Meet program specific requirements for employment and supervision of students in any externship or capstone course.
  • Hold classes for the full amount of time specified.
  • Notify the Academic Affairs Office if there is an urgent reason to miss class.
  • Be reasonably accessible to students via email or in person, return students’ assignments in a timely manner.
  • Hold office hours before or after class, a minimum of 30 minutes per week.
  • Advising modality should match teaching modality
  • Facilitate quality learning experiences for students.
  • Develop and implement classroom lesson plans and learning activities, including but not limited to; lectures, videos, demonstrations, and role-play.
  • Teach specific hours or contact hours per week as assigned.
  • Assist with student remediation.
  • Use the College’s Academic Monitoring and Learning Management System to document attendance and grades per Cecil College procedures.
  • Submit grades and all other end of the semester documentation in a timely manner.
  • Use the College email account assigned to the member shall be used for College communications and shall check that account on a daily basis.

Physical Demands

This position classifies the physical exertion requirements as sedentary work involving lifting no more than 10 pounds at a time and occasionally lifting or carrying articles like docket files, ledgers, and small tools. Although a sedentary job is defined as one which involves sitting, a certain amount of walking and standing is often necessary in carrying out job duties. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required occasionally, and other sedentary criteria are met.

Work Environment

Work environment involves everyday risks or discomforts which require normal safety precautions typical of such places as office or meeting and training rooms, e.g., use of safe workplace practices with office equipment, avoidance of trips and falls, and observance of fire and building safety regulations and traffic signals when driving.

Fiscal Year 2026 Credit Adjunct Scale

2 semesters of less at Cecil ($830 a credit hour for individuals with less than a Masters+60 or $855 a credit hour for individuals Masters+60 or a Earned Doctorate); More than 2 semesters at Cecil ($855 a credit hour for individuals with less than a Masters+60 or $880 a credit hour for individuals Masters+60 or a Earned Doctorate).
