About the role
The Arizona College of Nursing seeks adjunct instructors to teach on campus and in-person. This position requires a master’s degree or higher in the assigned subject area, or a master’s degree with relevant graduate coursework, and two years of practical experience in the course content area. Candidates should have a minimum of three years of work experience as an educator.
Responsibilities
- Provide a learning experience in the classroom, online, and/or in the lab using various teaching methods including lectures and demonstrations.
- Evaluate student achievements through administering oral, written, or performance tests.
- Evaluate student performance and identify those at risk of not succeeding, referring them to the Student Success Coordinator.
- Grade tests and projects, maintain grade books, track attendance, and perform other administrative duties.
- Manage student behavior in the classroom/online and establish clear objectives for all learning activities.
- Offer ongoing student advisement and academic counseling, including tutoring and mentoring.
- Participate in academic committees to enrich both programs and students.
- Attend and participate in ongoing conferences, seminars, and training sessions.
Requirements
- Masters’ degree or higher from an accredited program recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).
- A minimum of 15 credit hours or equivalent in the assigned subject area.
- Two years of practical experience in the course content area with a related degree, or three years of practical experience if the degree is in an unrelated field.
- A minimum of three years of work experience as an educator preferred.
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing in English.
